Earned my Associate in Applied Science in Production Pottery in ’73

Operated Allenworks Pottery ’73-’80

Birthed first daughter 1981 and second daughter 1986

Returned to drawing and painting ’88

Opened first art studio in downtown Raleigh, Hargett Street Studio w five other artists ’93

Had first one-person art show at Stevenson’s Book Store, downtown Raleigh 94

Moved to the country 98 & pursued sewing/quilting as an art form while continuing other art

Began journaling 2K and continued seriously in 2001

Made short list in local university creative writing competition. Totally inspiring. ’01

Joined NCWN https://ncwriters.org Best move ever. Went to workshops & conferences ’01-08

Rec’d 1st Place Novella, “Hard Times & Happenstance” Press 53 https://wwwpress53.com ’09

Received Professional Development grant from United Arts Council of Wake County 2016

Moved to Beaufort NC and joined Carteret Writers Group 2017

Founded The Writers’ Exchange 2018…Covid hit, so TWE Zoomed until early 2020

Helped build our critique group, The Renegade Writers which continues to this day

Joined the Arts Council of Carteret County and entered a few visual arts competitions.

Became something of a hermit after ACCC politics raged. So sad. Withdrew from much

Diagnosed very early w breast cancer. No chemo. Five days’ worth of radiation. All clear now!

Have been painting and writing steady along. Continue to be Fiction Editor for MSR as well as a Reader for CutBank Lit Mag. Fun, fun, fun. As well, occasionally editing for individuals.
